provides the opportunity to integrate sophrology techniques including dynamic relaxation, breathing
and body consciousness into your own life in a structured way, underpinned by a deep
understanding of the method.

  • Those considering the Foundations or Practitioner Training who would like to try it out before making a longer-term commitment to training in sophrology

  • Clinicians, health and care workers, therapists, coaches looking to work more holistically with their clients or patients
  • People from any background interested in an introduction to a structured mind-body practice already well-established in some parts of the world

Course Content and Outcomes

  • Sophrology Fundamentals: Origins, theories, principles, terminology, structure of the method
  • The influence of relaxation on the development of sophrology
  • Key concepts of Dynamic Relaxation Level One, including body consciousness, concentration, and breathing theory and practice
  •  Practice and integration of the exercises and specific techniques of Level One in
    sophrology.
  • Understand when and how to use Level One exercises for yourself or with others for personal development, enhanced performance and overall health and wellbeing.

Programme Structure

Format and Duration: Choose between two formats and start dates in the year:

  • March: Online only course
  • September: In-person and online combination

This course runs over 3 months, during which you will:

  • Participate in in-person and/or live online training classes
  • Attend virtual group practice sessions
  • Complete independent practice and one reflective assignment
  • Access online resources and reading in your own time

Entry Requirements:A Levels or equivalent. No additional qualifications required.

Location:  Online training is delivered over Zoom. In-person learning takes place in the beautiful village of Wye, a conservation area in Kent. The location is around an hour from London via the high-speed train link.
